Make a Hibiscus Tea Face Mask at Home
Want to create a hibiscus tea face mask at home? It is super easy, requires just a few ingredients, and can be prepared quickly. It infuses the goodness of hibiscus with the powerful properties of kaolin clay to cleanse your skin, brighten complexion, and impart smooth texture.
Ingredients:
- ½ tsp of powdered hibiscus.
- 1 tsp of kaolin clay (green or white from our Mix & Play Set).
- 1 tsp of organic yogurt.
- Few drops of water (alternatively, you can use witch hazel or rose water).
Method:
- If you are using hibiscus petals, grind them in a spice grinder till it forms a fine powder. Put the powder in a glass bowl (wooden or plastic will do as well).
- Mix kaolin clay with hibiscus powder using a plastic or wooden spoon.
- Pour rose water or plain water, and mix thoroughly.
- Add yogurt.
- If you want the mask to combat signs of ageing, you can add 3 drops of rose-hip seed oil too.
Application:
- Wash your face and cleanse skin properly before applying the mask.
- It is necessary to exfoliate as well – if dead skin cells and dirt are piling up on the skin surface and blocking pores, the mask can’t penetrate deep within, so your skin won’t get the necessary nourishment.
- Apply the facial mask to your face and neck using a face mask brush so the layer is even.
- Don’t wait for the mask to dry and form cracks. Splash your face gentle with water, use a washcloth to wipe off the mask, and then pat dry.
- Always follow up with a toner and moisturiser, respectively.
